Todd Whitaker

December 9, 2020

An Online Interactive Workshop

(Approved Illinois Administrators’ Academy #1374, “Implementing a Social Emotional Learning System Wide to Improve Student Achievement”)

Todd Whitaker is a faculty member of the Department of Educational Leadership and Policy Analysis at the University of Missouri and professor emeritus at Indiana State University. He is recognized as one of the nation’s leading authorities on staff motivation, teacher leadership, and principal effectiveness, Whitaker has written more than 50 educational books, including: Shifting the Monkey, What Great Teachers Do Differently, Leading School Change, Ten-Minute In-Service, Your First Year, and Motivating & Inspiring Teachers.

While much time and energy has been spent this year managing rapid-fire change, school leaders are searching for ways of leading change as well. The opportunities that arise from the challenges they face provide leaders with new ways to improve their schools. If you are someone who wants to better understand how to make a positive change and get the support from your school, you will want to join Todd Whitaker’s virtual workshop, Leading School Change, on December 9, 2020. In this timely workshop, Todd provides a step-by-step approach to successfully implement any change in your organization. The focus will be on the “how to” strategies for Leading School Change—from planning your approach, to tracking its progress, as well as how to work effectively with those in your setting. This workshop benefits school leadership teams, individual leaders, or any combination of people who are interested in successfully leading change throughout their school or district.

Participants will learn:

  • which people to include at the start of the change process;
  • how to make sure the first exposure is great;
  • how to build and support a collective positive frame of mind;
  • how to diminish the influence of the resistors.

The hands-on activities will allow for immediate application, as leaders and their teams develop a plan for effectively moving their organizations forward!
