MPC presents the Visible Learning Foundation Day seminar. We’re delighted to be able to share with you the results of 15 years of research into what really works best in education. For so long in education we seem to have been on the hunt for the next best thing – this research makes us stop and think about the vast amount we already do know and take stock about what really does make the difference to student learning.   By the end of the day, you will:

  • understand the key Visible Learning messages
  • be able to make links between these messages and what happens in your school.
  • be able to articulate key findings from Visible Learning research
  • be able to list some of the key characteristics of assessment-capable learners
  • understand that effect sizes are a useful way to measure progress
  • be able to describe the role of feedback and its potential impact on learning
  • be able to describe the mindframes which can have a major impact student achievement
  • have thought about the implications of what you’ve heard for your school.

Presented by Ainsley Rose, administrators and teachers attending the Evidence into Action for Leaders seminars will learn:

  • what evidence they should collect in their schools and districts to determine if they are a Visible Learning school
  • focus on the educational practices that are proven to increase student achievement
  • Following the Evidence into Action II, district/school leaders will construct school-wide goals and an action plan.

In order for MPC to be able to offer the Evidence into Action for Leaders two-day series in the fall of 2016, we will require at least 50 educators to register.  Registration will open on Feb. 25.  Illinois Administrator Academy credit will be provided.

We hope you will consider attending this great professional development opportunity!
