The Early Childhood Principal/Special Education Administrator reports to the Superintendent and is responsible for the organization and administration of all educational programs within the Early Childhood Education Center.
The primary responsibility of the Principal is the improvement of student achievement; time shall be spent on curriculum and professional development.
Additionally, the Early Childhood Principal/Special Education Administrator is responsible for supervising all Special Education programs within the school district.
Job Summary:
Establish and maintain an effective learning environment
Promote positive action toward the realization of school and district objectives and goals
Evaluate employees in accordance with district policy, procedures, and contracts
Make recommendations to the Superintendent regarding competency of faculty and staff
Monitor and participate in the effective operation of the School Improvement Plan
Articulate the school program to parents/families and seek their active engagement
Foster positive interpersonal relations between students, staff, parents, colleagues, and community
Assume leadership in the direction of all school activities
Grant management and its corresponding responsibilities as related to the early childhood program
Manage K-8 grade special education programs, in conjunction with building Principals
Collaborate with the Special Education Cooperative (NDSEC) relative to management of special education programs
Perform all other duties and tasks as assigned by the Superintendent of Schools
Qualifications:
Licensure as required by the Illinois State Board of Education
Administrative experience – Principal and/or Special Education leadership experience preferred
Experience working with Early Childhood students/programs
Experience working with Special Education students/programs
Bilingual/ESL endorsement/approval (Polish or Spanish)
Strong leadership and communication skills
Knowledge of effective strategies for improvement of student learning and achievement
Ability to lead instructional programs
Ability to work collaboratively to identify needs, develop viable plans, and prioritize program goals
Possess the vision and enthusiasm for effective leadership to achieve individual and collective goals
Recognize the importance of parent and community involvement in the school
Terms of Employment:
12 month year with salary to be established by the Board of Education.

Salary range $115,000-$135,000
