Position Summary
The Co-Director provides shared executive leadership for the Midwest Principals’ Center and is
responsible for advancing its mission, strategic vision, and operational excellence. Working in
partnership with the Co-Director and the Executive Board, this role oversees program
development, financial stewardship, stakeholder engagement, marketing, compliance, and
organization growth to ensure high-quality professional development services for educators
and school leaders.
The Co-Director models collaborative leadership, fosters innovation, and ensures that MPC
remains mission-driven, fiscally responsible, compliant with all regulatory requirements, and
responsive to the evolving needs of the educational community.

Key Responsibilities
1. Strategic Leadership
● Translate organizational vision into measurable goals and actionable plans.
● Monitor and evaluate program effectiveness and organizational impact.
● Ensure alignment between mission, programming, and financial resource allocation.
● Participate in planning and execution of all MPC events and initiatives.

2. Program Development & Event Management
● Lead the design, implementation, and evaluation of professional development programs
and services.
● Identify emerging trends and needs within the education field.
● Prepare for, set up, attend, and manage on-site professional development workshops.
● Coordinate and moderate Zoom meetings and virtual workshops.
● Build partnerships with school districts, educational leaders, and community
organizations.

3. Financial Management & Compliance
● Maintain accurate financial records.
● Pay all financial obligations and oversee contracts and invoicing.
● Develop financial reports for the Executive Board.
● Submit monthly financial records to the accountant and reconcile all bank statements.
● Provide documentation to authorized auditors for financial reporting and tax filings.
● Maintain all MPC insurance policies.
● Maintain vendor eligibility and ISBE Professional Development Provider status.

4. Communications, Marketing & Technology
● Manage MPC website to ensure accuracy, functionality, and current content
● Utilize digital tools to promote events and initiatives.
● Explore new/innovative methods that promote events and encourage membership.
● Utilize online collaboration tools to streamline organizational processes.

5. Governance & Organizational Operations
● Serve as a liaison to the Executive Board.
● Attend and participate in all Board and scheduled staff meetings.
● Follow all directives from the MPC Executive Board.
● Oversee day-to-day operations and organizational systems.
● Supervise staff and consultants as assigned.
● Ensure compliance with nonprofit regulations and legal requirements.
Qualifications

Required
● Master’s degree in education, nonprofit leadership, business administration, or related
field.
● Experience in educational leadership or nonprofit management.
● Demonstrated success in strategic planning and program implementation.
● Strong financial literacy and budget oversight experience.
● Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Preferred
● Experience as a building principal.
● Experience in professional development programming.
● Familiarity with nonprofit governance and board collaboration.
● Experience in a shared leadership role.
