The new 2024 Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Plan is here! Are you looking to
deepen your understanding of all components of literacy? Do you want to explore the
implications of the new plan? Are you in need of assistance as you begin to audit your
current literacy curriculum and teaching practices? If you answered “yes” to any/all of
these questions, we invite you to attend this one-day training session designed
exclusively for K-12 Illinois school leaders focusing on literacy in their schools and
districts.
Join Meghan Hargrave as she provides a comprehensive deep dive into the
implications of the Illinois Comprehensive Literacy Framework and offers practical and
powerful ways to ensure the most up-to-date literacy practices, regardless of the
curriculum resources adopted or used in your schools, buildings, or districts. Through
engaging in interactive turn-key activities and guided discussions with colleagues,
participants will explore strategies for bringing aspects of the framework to life and see it
as a helpful resource and tool that can be used to enhance and improve instructional
practices.
Whether you lead at the district level or school level, are a director of curriculum
and instruction, literacy coach, or teacher leader, this workshop will provide
invaluable insights to enhance your understanding of literacy components and enable
you to look closely at current practices and adjust accordingly as needed. You will not
only walk away having engaged in your own learning experience but will be empowered
to bring back all aspects of the day to those you support.
Whether you attend on your own or come as part of a school/district team, we hope you
are able to join Meghan Hargrave as she helps translate the 2024 Comprehensive
Literacy Plan into practical classroom applications.
