The Midwest Principals’ Center Celebrates 20 Years!
“Life must be lived forward, but it can only be understood backward.” – Søren Kierkegaard

The Northwest Suburban Principals’ Center was founded in 1985 by the Northwest Educational Cooperative. The organization was based upon the Harvard Principals’ Center and the work of Roland Barth. The Northwest Suburban Principals’ Center was renamed the Midwest Principals’ Center in 1994. MPC has been fortunate to have received quality leadership from Co-Directors Joanne Rooney, Sheila Wilson, Jack Elliott, and LuAnn Kelly.  In 2010 The MPC office moved from the Palatine D15 offices to the DuPage ROE offices in Wheaton. Then in June, 2018 the MPC office moved to Hoffman Estates.  Denise Welter then began her tenure as Co-Director after retiring  as principal in Wilmette Public School district 39.  Larry Hyde retired from St. Charles after a career of 31 years as a building principal and became Co-Director in 2013. In 2014 MPC celebrated its twentieth anniversary!
