Administrators’ Academy #826 – The School Administrator as Instructional Technology Leader

The Center for Professional Learning
1519 S. Grace Street
Lombard, IL

Today’s educational leader also must be a leader in the use of technology for professional development. One important method for sustaining one’s own learning and leading is through the use of wikis, blogs, Google, and social networking sites. School Leaders must educate themselves on the use of these internet tools before they can teach students and staff. The emphasis of this workshop will be practical and hands-on. Participants will learn ways to utilize Web 2.0 tools for their own professional development. A laptop will be required for this workshop.

Dave Sherman is the principal of South Park Elementary School in Deerfield School District 109. He has been blogging for over five years and he writes two different blogs. One is designed for his school community and the other is designed to share his thoughts on education, parenting, sports and other interests. Dave also has written a monthly post on LeaderTalk, which is an Education Week blog.
